When the idea came up to do something good, my first reaction was to start a foundation in the name of our sons. I think I was predominantly thinking of doing something for them to keep their memory alive. However, then I started to think about all the implications and what a foundation is really needed for. I realized that most of the things that I had in mind do not require a foundation. We are not going to collect donations which would take money away from other ogranizations that desperately need funds to run brick and mortar operations. Our ideas of networking and things on the Internet do not require a lot of money, but they require skill, expertise and time. Hence, I postponed the idea of a foundation and will focus on communication and networking first. If at some stage the needs change, we can still consider starting a foundation. At least our two boys now have a digital home in this website as well…
