If you live in British Columbia and have lost a child and wish to connect with other bereaved parents, please join the BC Childloss Support Network. If you are like us and hope to do something to support other parents by getting more actively involved in our action plan, please contact us. We would love to hear from you to talk about our children, the grieving process, ideas to improve the support of bereaved parents or similar.
BC Childloss Support Network
You can request to join the Facebook group called BC Childloss Support Network (BCCSN) which we created as a first step to get ourselves organized. This group is open to all bereaved parents who live in BC, no matter how old the child was or what caused the death.
Several support groups already exist in BC and organizations such as Compassionate Friends have started local chapters. We hope that we can complement the existing offers with our additional initiatives. This blog entry explains our reasons to start the BCCSN.
Important: BCCSN is a peer-to-peer support network, not a professional counselling or clinical mental health program. If you are in an acute life-threatening crisis or in need of something beyond peer-to-peer support, please contact the Crisis Centre or call 1-800-7842433.
